|
| How
long did your screenplay
take to write, from conception
to final completion? |
| A
month or so. Once I get
a fully-formed idea, I tend
to write pretty fast |
|
| Where
did your inspiration come
from? |
| Life.
You watch, you listen, things
happen around you or to
someone you know. You see
the dark stuff it sometimes
creates in them inside.
You set it free for them
the only way you can- on
the page... and let it do
what it will. |
|
| Are
Horror or Sci-Fi your main
creative interests? |
| How
about sci-fi with a dark
side to it. Really, I love
both. |
|
| Can
you describe a typical day
in the process of creating
your film or screenplay? |
| I
wish I could. I'm unfortunately
not one of those people
that can force it out. It
comes as it wants to, but
luckily it comes fast enough,
in spurts kinda, and I can't
help but feel each piece
falls into place exactly
when it was supposed to. |
|
| Who
do you consider to be the
greatest horror writer? |
| Stephen
King. |
|
| Can
you recall the first horror
film that left a lasting
impression on you? |
| Carrie. |
|
| Who
do you consider to be the
greatest 'Masters of Horror'? |
| Hitchcock |
|
| Do
you currently have any attachments
and/or a cast wishlist for
your screenplay? |
| I
wish for it to get sold,
cast, shot, and seen. |
|
| Who
do you see directing your
screenplay? |
| Wes
Craven. Why not? A young
horror maven can dream can't
she? Plus I think the tension
he built between two people
at odds in a small space
in "Red Eye" would
translate well in "Switch." |
|
| How
many edits has your screenplay
gone through? |
| One
or two. "Switch"
is a story about buried-just-beneath-the-surface
desires, choices and consequences,
fear and freedom. Once you
tap into it, that kind of
stuff flows. |
|
Was
this your first screenplay?
If so, are you inspired
to write another? |
| I
have several completed full-length
feature screenplays and
television specs. I am just
finishing my newest full-length
feature horror, "Blue
Bloods," and starting
the next one, "Lizzie." |
