| Q&A
with Diana Kemp-Jones |
|
|
| How
long did your screenplay
take to write, from conception
to final completion? |
| My
screenplays existed as short
stories, so to adapt them
to screenplays took only
a couple of weeks |
|
| Where
did your inspiration come
from? |
| The
dark corners of my imagination,
or my muse, as I like to
call her. |
|
| Are
Horror and Sci-Fi your main
creative interests? |
| Very
much so! |
|
| Can
you describe a typical day
in the process of creating
your film or screenplay? |
| Chaos,
disorganization. No notes,
no outlines. I just type
and revise ad nauseum. |
|
| Who
do you consider to be the
greatest horror writers? |
| There
are too many authors and
too many styles to categorize
so narrowly. Imagination
should never be boxed. |
|
| Can
you recall the first horror
film that left a lasting
impression on you? |
| The
Legend of Hell House (1973).
That sinister banging down
the corridors still creeps
me out. |
|
| Who
do you consider to be the
greatest 'Masters of Horror'? |
| Anyone
who has ever created a story
that has left an impression
on me, but Ridley Scott's
Alien is what I consider
a masterpiece. |
|
| Do
you currently have any attachments
or options for your screenplay? |
| I
currently have interest
in Road Kill as a potential
feature. |
|
| Who
do you see directing your
screenplay? |
| Whoever
has the vision to bring
the story to life. |
|
| How
many edits has your screenplay
gone through? |
| Endless.
Only when my gut tells me
it's ready. |
|
Was
this your first screenplay?
If so, are you inspired
to write another? |
| Neither
was my first screenplay.
I'm working on several other
projects as we speak. |
