Q
&
A with Phil Clarke Jr.
How long did your screenplay take to write, from conception to final completion?
About eight months.
Where did your inspiration come from?
The title character originally appeared in a short that I wrote. Someone read it and wanted to see a feature length piece about the character.
Are Horror or Sci-Fi your main creative interests?
Horror, though I swing both ways.
Can you describe a typical day in the process of creating your film or screenplay?
I sit in front of my computer, playing games, for a few hours before I start working.
Can you recall the first horror film that left a lasting impression on you?
The Exorcist. I laughed hysterically the first time I saw it and was frightened the second time.
Who do you consider to be the greatest 'Masters of Horror'?
The guys who wrote The Bible.
Do you currently have a cast wishlist for your screenplay?
Rip Torn as Sawyer. John Voight as Frank Maybrick. Anna Paquin as Tonya McPhee.
How many edits has your screenplay gone through?
Six.
Was this your first screenplay?
If so, are you inspired to write another?
This is my fourth feature and about my fifteenth script, over all.
