|
| How
long did your project take
to create, from conception
to final completion? |
| PUPPETEER was part of a filmfestival video challenge in Berlin, production time was limited to only 3 days for scriptwriting, production & postproduction. Nevertheless I started to write down ideas and contact actors and crewmenbers about a week in advance. After submitting the film I worked another 4 weeks on the fine tuning of the Final Cut and sound FX for the 'extended version' that is now to be screened. |
|
| Where
did your inspiration come
from? |
| Movies like 'Evil Dead' and various Slasherfilms were the stuff I grew up with. You may even find a certain smell of 'Saw' in this film. |
|
| Is
Horror or Sci-Fi your primary
creative interest? |
| No, I love filmmaking. Whenever I have a good story that is worth for me to tell (and possible to realize with my own money) I do it. However, I like the fantastic genre and did a lot more Horror- and Suspense Shorts as I did drama. |
|
| Can
you describe a typical day
in the creative process? |
| Getting up in the middle of the night, writing down the shotlist for the day, preparing the catering, meeting the team, shooting throughout the whole day, coming home in the middle of the night... |
|
| Who
do you consider to be the
greatest horror writer? |
| David Cronenberg. |
|
|
| Can
you recall the first horror
film that left a lasting
impression on you? |
| "Jaws". |
|
| Who
do you consider to be the
greatest 'Masters of Horror'? |
| The usual suspects: Spielberg, Jackson, Romero, Raimi, Carpenter, Cronenberg, Argento... |
|
| How
did you find your cast? |
| Local university for acting. |
|
| What
is you most memorable moment
while making your film? |
| I still remember every minute of that single day! |
|
| Did
you shoot on film or with
digital cameras? |
| Digital, but we did everything we could to make it look like film. |
|
| How
many members of your cast
and crew? |
| Six
actors and eight crewmembers. |
|
| If
you could choose any famous
actors to work with on future
projects, who would they
be? |
| Bruce Campbell, Richard Dryfuss, William H. Macy, Jack Black, Jeff Goldblum. |
