| Q&A
with the director
and writers: |
|
|
| How
long did your project take
to create, from conception
to final completion? |
| Approximately 4 years. |
|
| Where
did your inspiration come
from? |
| The four producers had a series of meetings whose only function was to brainstorm story ideas. Eventually, we agreed that we wanted to do a story about a guy with no memory. The rest grew from there. |
|
| Is
Horror or Sci-Fi your primary
creative interest? |
| Yes – at least in the near future. We’re big fans. |
|
| Can
you describe a typical day
in the creative process? |
| Things differ so much from pre-production through post-production, it’s hard to imagine any day being typical. But, for us, it usually goes: Get up, work 10 hours at a day job, THEN start working on the film. |
|
| Who
do you consider to be the
greatest horror writer? |
| Alright, how about: Stephen King, William Peter Blatty, Peter Benchley, Bram Stoker. |
|
|
| Can
you recall the first horror
film that left a lasting
impression on you? |
| We’ll nominate three: “The Exorcist,” “Aliens,” and “Evil Dead” |
|
| Who
do you consider to be the
greatest 'Masters of Horror'? |
| Hitchcock, Craven, Raimi, Spielberg, Peter Jackson, Danny Boyle. |
|
| How
did you find your cast? |
| No tricks, just leg work. For instance, David Anders (“ELI”) we recruited by sending our script to his manager. The manager liked it and passed it on to David. David liked it and wanted to do the film. Simple. |
|
| What
is you most memorable moment
while making your film? |
| Lots to choose from – But, recently, hearing our score recorded by a 30 piece orchestra in a studio at Capitol Records was … well, it was indescribable. |
|
| Did
you shoot on film or with
digital cameras? |
| We shot on a Sony F-900 HD digital camera (graciously donated by Panavision). The same camera Lucas used to shoot “The Phantom Menace.” |
|
| If
you could choose any famous
actors to work with on future
projects, who would they
be? |
| Johnny Depp springs to mind. Or Bruce Campbell. |
