Satire
reared its head several
times at Shriekfest 2006
to hilarious effect.
Brett Young delighted
the audience with "A
Terrorist Ate My Brain,"
a dead-on lampooning of
the paranoia at the heart
of our "War on Terror."
At one point a hysterical
victim of fear exclaims,
"the threat level
has been raised to orange!
Orange! That's almost...
RED!!!"
Sharing the satirical
barbs is the world's
sudden obsession with
iPods, which an Al-Qaeda
operative posing as
a rap star called G-Hoddie
is using to infect the
brains of listeners
with a zombie creating
virus.
The gore becomes plentiful
and the make-up FX are
fun. "A Terrorist
Ate My Brain" was
a definite hit.
