Dark Romance Review |
|
|
Horrors of War is an
adult film that might
play much better to teenagers.
It's an ambitious indie
film with a large cast,
impressive locations and
a handful of vintage army
vehicles. The story unfortunately
plays out like a cross
between the 1960's WW
II drama 'Combat' and
an episode of Goosebumps.
Unimaginative and uninvolving
set-pieces of traditional
war skirmishes are mixed
with encounters involving
supernatural creatures
and "Reanimator"
style Nazi zombies.
Horrors of War is a praiseworthy
project considering the
limitations of the production,
but reshooting some of
the scenes that appear
to be woodenly acted on
sound stages, re-ordering
the sequence of events
and re-editing the considerable
amount of footage to create
a faster pace could realize
Horrors of War's considerable
potential..
