Remedios Varo

In her time, Remedios Varo survived the horrors of the Spanish Civil War and Hitler's conquest of France while becoming a revered surrealist painter before her untimely death. From her time in pre-war Paris through the final twenty years of her life in Mexico, she was a part of the world of such surrealists as Ernst, Miro, Kahlo and many more.

Introducing Abby Travis

Abby Travis has played bass with KMFDM, Beck and The Bangles, and shares a concert with David J of Bauhaus on February 23, this time performing her own unique blend of rock music infused with the spirit of Marlene Dietrich. Her beautiful new solo CD, 'Glittermouth,' is the follow-up to her acclaimed album 'Black Pop and Cutthroat Standards.

It's that time of year again; the call has gone out for entries for this year's Shriekfest screenwriting and movie competition. Some of last year's winners went on to be featured films in After Dark's "8 Films to Die For."
