Jennifer
Lynn Connelly began her ascent
to fame as a 10 year old girl
when she achieved success as
a model and in television commercials.
Her first movie role came at
the age of 14 in the epic gangster
film Once Upon A Time In America,
directed by Sergio Leone.
The first of many roles in fantasy
and horror was as the young
star of a film by Dario Argento,
the legendary Italian director
of the classic Susperia.
In 1986, she co-starred with
David Bowie in the cult favorite
Labyrinth, as a girl finding
her way through the realm of
Jareth the Goblin King.
Only a few of her many starring
roles have been in light comedies
or playful fantasies.
Her preference for tragic characters
and intense stories has placed
her in genre films from horror
to film noir to dark
drama.
In addition to the characters
she has brought to the screen,
she was offered several major
parts in dark cinema that have
gone to other actresses either
by choice or by bad timing,
including starring roles in
The Ring and The Omen
