Koitsukihime's dolls follow in the tradition of classic Victorian "Bisque" or porcelain dolls. A bisque doll is made from porcelian slip (a liquid clay) which is poured into and fired in a mold. Unlike a China doll, which is glazed to a glossy finish, a bisque doll retains a fine, matte translucency after firing.
