The Artistic Atrocities of D.W. Frydendall

An Exerpt from 'Darren, Myth and Man'

"I was born on August 22, 1970. I'm certain that upon discovering paper and pencil or crayon, I was drawing; and probably not what you would consider normal kid stuff.

What are my likes and dislikes? Well, I like my motorcycle. Among other things I like comic sequential art. This art form influenced me for most of my life. Artists that have influenced me are Berni Wrightson, Alfonse Mucha, Harry Clarke and a herd of other talented folk.

I like music too. I like punk (Sex Pistols, Cramps, Fear), Rock-a-billy/big band style (Rev. Horton Heat, Stray Cats) classical (Debussy, Wagner), a little industrial (Thrill Kill Kult, KMFDM), And the one and only Johnny Cash. I should also mention my affinity for Rob Zombie as well. I like ethereal (my Gothic friends will kill me if I say "gothic" but you know what? Screw 'em.) such as Bauhaus, and DCD.

I pride myself on few things... OK., a BUNCH of things. One of which is my contentness with life."

(above) Selected works of D.W. Frydendall

L.A. artist Darren (D.W.) Frydendall is at his delightfully demented best when rendering deleriously comical scenes of flesh-eating carnage or creating frightfully bloodthirsty character studies.

We're pleased to present his art, and to allow the artist to introduce himself in his own words.
