Tim
Burton's six minute
homage for two of
his most beloved
heroes, Vincent
Price and Dr. Seuss,
was created during
his time as an apprentice
animator at Disney
Studios.
The
Seuss-styled rhyming
couplets form a
playful irony as
juxtaposed with
the style of the
art, reminiscent
of the gothic visuals
in German Expressionism.
Rick Heinrichs,
Burton's partner
on Vincent, went
on to participate
on Edward Scissorhands,
The Nightmare Before
Christmas and more.
Vincent
Price said of this
film, "It was
immortality –
better than a star
on Hollywood Boulevard."
