An Ode to "Buffy" - Music by Linkin Park

The tale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer is certainly one of the most beloved and well-respected of fictional vampire mythologies. The television series (based on a feature film) ran for seven seasons from 1997 through 2003.

Readers in the Los Angeles area can visit Sunnydale High in the city of Torrance. The school used for Buffy's alma mater was Torrance High School, located at 2200 West Carson Street.

It's a rare thrill for fans of the series to sense a place that had existed only in fantasy brought to life so vividly.

Buffy earned an Emmy Award nomination for the 1999 episode "Hush." The 2001 episode "The Body," involving the death of Buffy's mother, was nominated for a Nebula Award in 2002.

The fall 2001 musical episode "Once More, with Feeling" has been included among the "100 Greatest Musicals." In 2001, Sarah Michelle Gellar received a Golden Globe-nomination for Best Actress in a TV Series-Drama.

The series won in the Drama Category for Television's Most Memorable Moment at the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards for "The Gift."
