The
Descent aspires
to nothing less
than the revival
of British horror
filmmaking, as it
existed in the days
of Hammer Studios.
Director Neil Marshall
offered the well
received werewolf
movie Dog Soldiers
several years ago,
and The Descent
has won awards for
direction, effects
and acting in Great
Britain.

In the classic
style of Alien,
a group of increasingly
terrified and vulnerable
companions are trapped
in a dark and labyrinthine
environment with
a creature of unknown
origin with relentless
bloodthirst.
A talented group
of actresses led
by the award nominated
Nora-Jane Noone
comprise the all-female
cast.
