In Jeff Burr's
genre-blending,
war- themed horror
film, two American
soldiers harrowingly
escape captivity
and death, only
to discover that
in war, there is
no limit to the
bizarre and gut-wrenching
terror that can
be wrought.
The action takes
place after the
Battle of the Bulge
near the end of
World War II in
a place of would-be
refuge that becomes
a living nightmare.
Jeff Burr has been
making movies since
he first learned
to shoot with an
8mm camera as a
child. He sharpened
his craft as a director
of horror sequels
in the Texas Chainsaw,
Puppet Master and
Stepfather series.
'Darkness' is Burr's
successful foray
into the realm of
indie films with
a singular vision,
placing him among
directors like Robert
Rodriquez and Guillermo
del Toro.
Locations in Romania
provide perfect
scenery for the
haunting cinematography
of Burr's DP, Viorel
Gergevicj.
Straight Into Darkness
has garnered universal
praise and must-see
acclaim since its
award winning release
on the film festival
circuit in 2004.
