The Art of Crab Scrambley

I love Crab Scrambly. No, the aforementioned is not the subject of a poem by T.S. Elliot (I should have been a pair of ragged claws...), nor a seafood egg dish.

Crab Scrambly is a brilliant, somewhat deranged painter, cartoonist and conceptualist, whose work can be morbidly and blissfully enjoyed in the books The 13th of Never and Everything Can Be Beaten.

His style is all his own, though comparisons can be made to dark humourists from Gorey to Burton. Part of the special excellence of the artist is his skill with different media, making his color illustrations and his pen and ink graphics equally delightful while still remaining Scramblyesque.

His art has been reproduced on t-shirts, greeting cards and skateboards as well as in books.
