A beautiful, extraordinarily effective triangular composition draws the viewer's eye (and with it, the revived corpse of Lazarus) upward toward the raised hand of Jesus in this painting from around 1630. A smaller triangular outcrop of rock surrounds and accents the hand and face of the reanimator while the weapons hanging on the wall lead the eye back down to the gaunt face of Lazarus.
